January 2010

Wow! It's already February, the months seem to go by faster and faster!! COLD, that's the best way to describe our January, I am really hoping that some warmer weather will come our way and very soon.  We spent last Saturday at Arlington Ballpark for Rangers Fan Fest and it was in the 20's while we were there.  Even though it was so cold there was still a large turnout, we were unable to get "tickets" to wait in line for autographs.  There was one point when it was so cold that my hands hurt! Thankfully we spent a lot of our time in the indoors of the ballpark.  We did go out onto the field so Caleb could run the bases but he wasn't having any of it.  That was the first time that I have seen my son turn down the opportunity to run wild.  Don't worry we bundled him up and he had a blanket too.  The best part of the day is when we attended a Q&A with Josh Hamilton!!!  It was all worth it then. :)
Caleb and I have had a few playdates with his friend Megan, we spent a Sunday morning at the Fort Worth Stock Show.  Caleb loved all the animals but only to look at, he wasn't having any of the petting of the animals.  We would go up to a cow to pet them and he would get scared and say no, no.  At the petting zoo he wasn't interested either but he did want to kick the chickens and throw the sawdust in the air! When it was time to leave he wanted to "touch the cow" but it was too late.  He'll have to wait until next year.  It was so fun watching him get so excited about the animals, he LOVES his farm animals and when dad got home from work Caleb made sure to tell him every animal he saw.

Looking cool in his shades!!

White Christmas 2009

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year.  On Christmas Eve James spent the day working and Caleb and I were off to visit Santa at the mall and then came home right before the snow started to come down...it came down from about noon to 7pm!! We had 2-3 inches and since it was so windy there were drifts of over a foot... we still have some snow that hasn't melted yet and are expected to get less then an inch today! It was a white Christmas for us.  Caleb and I went out in the snow, it lasted about 2 seconds and then he wanted to come in, he was not having it.

Caleb Wanting to Come Back In

After our adventures in the snow, it was cookie baking time.  Caleb helped me cut out all the sugar cookies, there was 2 dozen!

We also took some time out of photography sessions, he really gets into having his photo taken.

When James got off work we had dinner and were planning on waiting until Christmas Day to open gifts but there is something in the Wall blood that you have to open gifts early.... so we opened gifts.

(yes, that really says 1,000 stickers)

After every gift Caleb had a play with each new toy!

and when you need a little rest, just sit on the next gift to open

On Saturday James parents arrived and we had a good dinner and then it was time to open more gifts.

April was very excited to open her gift from us. :)

Caleb got more Thomas the Train..movies, books & a cup!

Where is Caleb?  He was helping Grandpa open his gift.... all you can see is his little hands!!

Spending some time with Grandma
The next morning we were off Grapevine, stopping at the Gaylord Texan (the most amazing hotel ever) and of course shopping at Grapevine Mills!

Caleb and Grandpa have a tradition that whenever we all go to Grapevine Mills, they ride on the carousal. Caleb loves it!
